Afridi named Pak T20 captain

Shahid Afridi will lead Pakistan in their defence of the ICC World Twenty20 title in the West Indies.
Afridi was among seven players against who the PCB had imposed severe sanctions following an inquiry committee report probing reasons for the team's dismal performance on their tour of Australia earlier this year.
Afridi was caught on camera tampering with the ball during a one-day match in Perth and was banned for two Twenty20 Internationals by the International Cricket Council.
The PCB fined the all-rounder three million rupees (£23,800) and put him on six-months probation for bringing the game and the country into disrepute.
But in a remarkable about-turn he has now been named skipper following a meeting with PCB chairman Ijaz Butt in Lahore.
"After a detailed discussion, the PCB have appointed Shahid Afridi as captain for the World Cup," PCB spokesman Nadeem Sarwar said.
Pakistan had announced their 15-man squad for the World Twenty20 earlier this month but delayed picking a captain to lead the country's title defence in the tournament which begins in the Caribbean from April 30.
